About Girls Rising Series

Girls Rising Summer Twilight Series was created with one belief at its core...that girls deserve spaces where they feel seen, heard, deeply valued, and powerfully equipped. This six session group mentorship program program brings middle school girls together culturally affirming environment where they can build confidence, develop skills, and connect with peers who share their experiences. Led by facilitators with a heart for community, Girls Rising blends behavioral science with real, relevant support that meets girls exactly where they are.

Who is this program for?

Middle school girls entering 7th or 8th grade. This program works for best for girls who are dong okay and want to go deeper into who they are, learn to build real connections, and design a summer that actually means something to them.

Is this therapy?

No. Girls Rising is a mentoring program facilitated by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA ) and in partnership with the I Define Me Movement. It draws on evidence-based frameworks but is not a substitute for therapy.

What does my daughter need to bring to Girls Rising?

Just herself and a willingness to show up. She doesn't need to have it all together, know what to say, or be anyone other than who she already is.

Does she need to attend all three nights in her session?

Yes. Each session builds on the last, so all three nights matter. If anything raises a safety concern, you will hear from us immediately.

Program Facilitator

This program is led by Syn McDonald, BCBA and doctoral candidate with over 20 years of experience working with children, adults, and families with various needs and in various settings. Her practice is rooted in cultural responsiveness, community, and the belief that every girl and every family deserves support that truly sees them. GIRLS RISING is one of the initiatives where that commitment comes to life.
